Bridie Rowe

Principal

Bridie was born in Ipswich and at the age of 5 years joined a local co-op dance class to later successfully audition for the award winning Co-op Juniors.  This marked the beginning of her performing career and it was here that she learned the foundations of her craft, performing leading roles at various venues throughout East Anglia, to include the highly successful Pantomime productions staged at the Regent Theatre. It was during this time Bridie achieved her first acting accolade; NODA, the National Operatic and Dramatic Association, presented Bridie with 'the most promising young performer' award, a great honour for an aspiring young actress.

Having attended St Joseph’s College in Ipswich she continued to perform leading roles in numerous musical productions such as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Half A Sixpence and South Pacific.  After gaining her A Levels Bridie decided to follow her dream of becoming a professional performer and successfully auditioned to attend Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, graduating in the summer of 2007.  Since graduating Bridie has performed all over the country in various acting and musical theatre roles with her most recent as Cinderella at the Millfield Theatre, London.

Alongside performing, Bridie has always had a great passion for working with young people and began teaching at the age of 16 as principal tutor for the weekly Co-op Education dance classes held at Ravenswood Primary School, Ipswich.  It was here she had her first taste of teaching and caught the bug.  During her training and performance work she continued to teach whenever the opportunity presented itself, for various companies throughout East Anglia and London, and is now a fully qualified teacher currently teaching Drama at The Ramsey College, Halstead.

Directing is another great passion of Bridie’s and has seen her direct three highly successful CTC Summer workshop productions alongside the company choreographer Emma Nightingale - High School Musical (2009); The Wiz (2010); and Camp Rock the Musical (2011).  The summer of 2012 will see Bridie direct a Suffolk premiere of the fantastical, magical, musical extravanganza 'SEUSSICAL JR!' (based on the works of Dr. Seuss) to be staged at the New Wolsey Theatre on Sunday 17th June at 2pm and 6pm.  Book early to avoid disappointment!
